The video for Pigbag’s fourth single, “The Big Bean”, has been uploaded to YouTube by former band-member Brian Nevill.
Another one that didn’t see much screen time at the time of release.
Many thanks to Brian for digging these out!

Brian Nevill has uploaded Pigbag’s video for their third single, “Getting Up”, to YouTube.
I’d never seen it before, it may never have been shown on TV at all.
Directed by Mick Calvert. Assistant director and master of ceremonies Julian Firth. Shot over 20th/21st February 1982 in Cheltenham.
Brian says he’ll be uploading the video for “The Big Bean” next, another that I’ve not seen.
Gordon Wedderburn will playing brand new Pigbag tracks – “Disco Mammal” and “Alpaca Hat” in his ‘Jazz Moods’ programme on Generation Radio – Wednesday 2nd November 7 – 9 pm (Repeated Sunday 1pm).
The show might feature a couple of old Pigbag tracks as well.
Update: Unfortunately none of the Pigbag track materialised on the show. My apologies to anyone who tuned in and was disappointed. Let’s hope they’ll be in a later show.
Following the inclusion of “Sleepwalking” on the last Art of the 12 Inch compilation, ZTT are to unleash Instinct’s previously unreleased “Swamp Down’ (12” Mix)” on a second volume, imaginatively entitled “Art of the 12 Inch Volume 2”.
The CD is out on 20th February 2012, a full track listing can be found at the bottom of this Holy Moly posting.

Unfortunately Mark Jay Smith (bass) has left Pigbag. He had other commitments which made it impossible for him to be dedicated to the band. Sorry to see him go, (as one ‘nam veteran to another – thats chelt’nam) but understand. We have booked Sven Atterton for Amsterdam and if he is able to school himself in the ways of the bag he will be permanent.
Pigbag have announced more dates, this time in the Netherlands & Birmingham. June 2nd at the Paradiso in Amsterdam.
(Update 2nd June: The Paradiso gig has now been postponed)
The Birmingham gig is part of the Mostly Jazz Festival and is on Sunday 3rd July 2011 at 3.00pm
